2024 November Newsletter

 September – October Activities:

Sunday, September 8thwe had “Picnic In The Park Sunday”. After our Sunday morning services we went to Aumiller Park and had  our cook-out of hamburgers and hotdogs. We enjoyed playing Corn Hole as a church family, not doing too bad of a job scoring. I think it might have been my first time at actually scoring!!! Wow!!! Then we concluded with an early evening service there at the Park. After we started teaching through the Discipleship book from Paul Chappell called “Continue”, I have been trying to do one lesson a week with a few exceptions. The “Continue” book offers 14 lessons, we have completed up-through lesson 9. For Sunday School I have put on recess our lessons on the Parables of Jesus from Matthew 13 with plans to resume them once we finish with our Discipleship lessons in the “Continue” book. With most of the Church folks having their own “Continue” book it helps them in being able to actively fill-in the answers along with giving them a daily devotion for each day of the week after we have gone over that week’s lesson. This book has been good for our church folks. It has strengthened their understanding.

Sunday, September 22nd we had “Friend Day” at Old Paths Baptist Church. We learned about “Friendship With The Lord”1.TheFriends Of Jesus Are Favored  By The Lord– II Chronicles 20:7“Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?2.Friends Of JesusKnow Him Personally In A Fellowship With Him– Exodus 33:11a“And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. …”3. The Friends Of JesusListen/ Obey What He Says– John 15:15, “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.”4.The Friends Of JesusTrust Fully In The Lord– James 2:23“And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.”Sunday

October 6th Old Paths Celebrated their 10th Anniversary giving out to every family in attendance a small Cutting Boards with the Church logo on them. Following the morning services we had a potluck lunch down stairs. Please be in Prayer for Old Paths Baptist Church in its growth and our Family as we do Missions In America. As mentioned previously, being involved with the Wynford School District only 3 minutes away from Old Paths Baptist Church allows me to see the dire need of an American world without God that misinterprets and takes out of context the Separation of Church and State. On Monday mornings I’ve been asked by some of the other bus drivers to head up a prayer time for the new week. One of the bus drivers that has not come before to our prayer time came just this week asking prayer for his grandson that will need kidney surgery in a few months; also, some of the kids have been opening up and seeing someone that will actually talk with them, and care enough to pray for a need that has come up. Pray as the Lord is at Work in ways we do not always understand. Thank you all who have Faithfully sent us cards and have Faithfully Supported us Prayerfully and Financially in our Missions In America!

Prayer Requests: Our sons traveling back home from Bill Rice Ranch Bible School, Nehemiah and Joseph; Old Paths Baptist Church work and growth; My wife and I would still like to go visit our church plant and Pastors back in Ghana West Africa.

Bits Of Bread:    “Giving Thanks To God”– Psalm 100:1-5, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.” “Servethe Lord with gladness: come before his presencewith singing.” “Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” “For the Lord is goodhis mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”

1. For the Lord is Great and Good – Psalm 95:3, “Forthe Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.”; Ps 100:5

2. For We Get to Serve Him – Psalm 100:2

3. For We Get To Go into His Presence – Psalm 95:2; 100:2, 4

4. For the Lord is Merciful and Delivers us from Self-Inflicted Situations – Psalm 100:5; Jonah 2:7-9, 10

5. For the Angels in Heaven Do – Rev 7:12

Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

2024 July Newsletter

 July Activities:

As our Theme for the year has been “The Church that God Builds”, we have been learning in our Sunday School classes about the Parables of Jesus from Matthew 13. We have learned that the first four Parables speak about what the Devil is Doing in the World and to the Church between Christ’s 1st Coming and his 2nd Coming. But also, in the 5thand 6thParables of Jesus of Matthew 13, we are Learning what the Lord is Doing during this time period, the Church Age which concerns Israel (the Jews), the Gentiles, and the Church. Sunday Evening, July 7thLighthouse Baptist Church came over to our church and we had a Singspiration/Ice Cream-social. It was refreshing and of a good spirit. This being our 1stSingspiration for us at Old Paths some of us volunteered to do some specials. Some with talent and ability, Some without talent and ability!!! Tammera and myself sang a song selection (And No One Left!!!), My wife and Tammera, one of our teens played their flutes, and Lauren Dornbirer, a professional, played for church our specials and also a piano special of her own. Then Lighthouse had specials and everyone in attendance gave testimonies and had some song selections to sing together as a congregation. We all enjoyed the services and then we went downstairs to eat and have Ice Cream. It Was Good!!! As we talked about in our last Newsletter in July, Gary and Regina finished up with the Baptism/Membership Classes my wife and I had with them and on Sunday July 13thafter our morning services they were Baptized and added to the church here at Old Paths Baptist Church. Amen!!! July 8-13 two of our teens went to Bill Rice Ranch with Chippewa Lake Baptist Church. They came back with testimonies and the Lord working.

August Activities:

Wednesday evening, August 14ththe teens had a “Back to School” night downstairs. We had about 8 teens in attendance. They had, Pizza, Pop, and some Games which really brought out some talent (Ha, Ha!!!). While my son Nehemiah was upstairs with the Adults leading singing I was downstairs giving a devotion. The teens were listening and so was the Devil. It seems that when you challenge others with things of the Lord, the Devil tries harder. The Lord has been working on the men in the Church along with the Devil. Joe, one of the men in the church who is not saved, has times of being uncomfortable, seeing all of how God is working through his family and friends at church. He is faithful in coming with his daughter Tammera and his wife that have been saved, baptized, and have joined the church last November. Joe, wanting and willfully, does the church lawn and any maintenance that needs done at the church. Pray for him. One Sunday in late July, early August Gary, who just got saved, married, and baptized, got real sick at church and needed help getting out to his car. Joe was there to help him with concern in his face about Gary making it. In August after our evening services we have been going downstairs to stuff some 800 packets/door hangers with tracts, flyers about our special day, and a John and Romans for our Friends Day coming up on September 22nd. Joe has gone from just sitting there to helping put them together. Joe, along with his daughter and his wife, has also been coming out on visitation with us to leave these packets at each door we visit. His visitation with us has gone from his just walking with us to his hanging the packets on the doors while I am on the other side of the street doing the same thing. Maybe I am reading into it too much, BUT I am Hoping, Praying, and Talking to him about his Salvation and Savior.

Prayer Requests: My wife and I would still like to go visit our church plant and Pastors back in Ghana West Africa, but we still need to raise the funds for that; Church Growth at Old Paths; Our son, Nehemiah as he is now at Bill Rice Ranch for their Bible institute for a least a year.

Bits Of Bread:     The Lord Uses Select People for Select Jobs– Through Jehu as Anointed King of the Northern Kingdom of Israel God used him to Execute God’s Judgment on Ahab’s House for killing Innocent People as Prophesied by Elijah,  he Executed the Pagan Priests and Worshippers of Baal out of Israel and much more. (II Kgs 9-10)

“Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.– II Kgs 9:3

2024 May Newsletter

From the Ocean to the Trough:                                                                                                                                                              In March we finished up our Baptism/Membership classes with the Evans family, the family that I wrote about in our last newsletter that Received Christ as their Saviour at the end of January and the beginning of February. In Ghana, West Africa, when people from our church plant there got Saved, we would go to the ocean for our Baptismal Services. On Easter Sunday they, the Evans family, all got Baptized in a holding tank/ trough that you would use on a farm. To me that was pretty sharp!!! It has been exciting for the church and those who come and are not yet saved, or yet have decided to become members to see a whole family getting Saved then getting Baptized and joining the church.

Gary Got Saved:                                                                                                                                                                     Since last October there has been a couple coming with her teen daughter. The couple, Gary and Regina, back in October called me at the church here at Old Paths for some help and counsel with Regina’s daughter. After they called me, I went over to visit and talk with them about their situation and getting Saved. Regina had already gotten Saved a long time ago, but Gary was not and he told me that. But they have been coming faithfully ever since October. On Saturday, April 20th of this year, Gary got very sick and was taken to the hospital’s emergency room. By that afternoon I went to visit him and Regina there. It was a good hour’s drive and all that I could think is, “That He Needed To Get Saved!” So, when I arrived and got to his room everything seemed to be fine, but his blood pressure was very high, at times it was over 200. I started with some small talk and questions on why he thinks that he was there (God Knew). Then I asked him about getting Saved, he was under conviction and really wanting to get Saved, but in his mind he was just uneasy on how to do that and go about that. So, when I asked him, he said, “O, I will do it tomorrow at church (Sunday). Regina sitting across from me said to Gary, “What If You Don’t Make it till tomorrow?” Then I looked at him and said, “she is right, you are not guaranteed tomorrow.” We then did a little-more small talk and then he said, “Well, maybe I’ll get saved on Wednesday evening?” All the while wanting to get Saved and knowing he needed to get Saved, he in his mind was just uneasy on how to go about it. I asked him, “Who is going to win today, You or the Devil, there is nothing stopping you from getting Saved right now, you do not need to wait to get to church.” He, then said, “I will, I will get Saved after they let me go to the restroom.” When Gary got back to the room he was laying in I got to lead him to the Lord!!! Gary told me after he got Saved what was going on in his mind that he wasn’t sure and uneasy of how to go about getting Saved. He also said, “I should have done this 60 years ago.” “I told him, it is better late than never!” Thank you all for your faithfully supporting of us financially and prayerfully in our ministry at Old Paths church planting, Establishing, and Strengthening, God Builds His Church and more is in the works!!! The Lord Orchestrates, We Must Just Follow!

Prayer Requests:

My wife and I are looking to go back to visit and encourage our Church Plant, Cornerstone Biblical Baptist Church with Pastor Prince, and the Anaji Bible Study with Pastor Koasi in Ghana, West Africa. We are thinking around September/ the fall time, but we need to raise funds for that; Our son Nehemiah is graduating from High School on May 18th, for our family as we travel to Florida for that; Our continued church growth at Old Paths. The Lord is at Work!

Bits Of Bread:

It Is Quite Amazing To Look Back At How The Lord Orchestrates His Mercy for Our Salvation!!! “Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?” – Romans 11:12  (11:1-36)

2024 March Newsletter

January/February Activities:                                                                                                                                                                   In the beginning of the year as I was preaching on our theme, “The Church that God Builds after the morning service a couple wanted to join the church, but they had some question and wanted to share some things with us. So, I asked them to come over to our house during the week to start some Baptism/Membership classes. I also had a question for them!!! That night on Thursday, January the 26th, they came over and made sure of their salvation and asked if they could bring their children the next week? I said, “Sure that would be Great!” The next week on Friday, February the 9th, they came with their kids and we began the baptism/membership classes, the first lesson being on Salvation! Their children, ages 10 and 18 were not saved so I explained Why and How to get saved. Then I asked Dylan, the 10 year old son, if he would like to get saved. He hesitated, then said that he was not ready just yet. Then I asked Aubrey, the 18 year old daughter, and quickly with no hesitation she said, “Yes, I would like to get Saved” She then bowed her head and asked Jesus Christ to be her Saviour. After receiving Christ as her Saviour, her brother said, “I’m ready to get Saved! Amen, Praise the Lord! The two accepted Christ and joined their parents with their hearts in the baptism/membership class. Aubrey had a spiritual birthday that day and the next day she had her physical birthday and turned 19. These classes have been good for all of us, It Is a Joy To Be with them asking questions, sharing experiences, and the fellowship. Although we eventually, go over our notes together we have other good discussions that they bring up.

Also, in February we had a teen activity, it was a Progressive Dinner. We had 5 teens join the activities and some of the church families host different parts of the meal playing a game at each house as the evening went on. We had a good time. I was asked to speak at a Valentines Dinner and one couple from our church at Old Paths joined us for the Valentine’s Banquet. We rode together and fellowshipped before the dinner. We had a nice time together with Pastor Warnick and Calvary Chapel which hosted the

Valentine dinner. We at Old Paths Baptist Church hosted a Pastor’s Fellowship for the month of February for North Central Ohio Baptist Fellowship. We had about 23 pastors coming, I spoke the first session and Pastor Joe Williams spoke the 2nd session, then we had our lunch down stairs. Another church who was not able to host the fellowship gave us some money towards the preparing of the meal. Jackie made sloppy Joe's, real Macaroni and Cheese and Green Beans. A few days before the Pastor’s Fellowship the Ladies of the church helped clean and spruce up the church. The Day of, they brought in desserts, helped with serving and cleaned up. It was a blessing to see them get involved. The day went well!

Updates/Prayer Requests & Praise!:

My trip to Heartland Baptist Bible College’s Church Planting Conference with my son Nehemiah went well. I did not get to present our work here at Old Paths, but there were contacts that were made. The Church Planting Conference was big with many pastor and people coming to help fund the church planters that came and presented, but only about 30+ church planters were selected to present during the week. Although we did not get to present they printed out a booklet of all the Church Planters present at the conference and everyone that attends the conference received one. Through that there has been some pastors and other people contact us with financial support one time giving and maybe longer. Pray for us, time will tell. It was a good conference and good to see the many of those who are supportive of America’s need.

Pray for the Spencer Family in the passing of Pastor James Spencer; Pray for Our

upcoming Easter Breakfast we are planning at Old Paths, our Church growth and Effectiveness! Thanks for the Birthday Cards and Wishes; Thanks For Your Faithful Support!

Bits Of Bread: “And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” - Col 3:14; “Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!” – Jn 11:36 “Others Need To See Your Love”

Love is the bond of perfectness; Love is comforting, consoling, and fulfills; Love gets you farther in your faith; Love helps others to convert; Love is something others remember; Love is what others need to see:

I. It (LOVE) Is What Others Remember - Jn 11:1-3;

II. It (LOVE) Is What Heavily Influences Our Decisions - Jn 11:4-7;

III. It (LOVE) Is What Causes Others To Follow, Even If They Don’t Quite Understand - Jn 11:7-16;

IV. It (LOVE) Is What Others Need To See - Jn 11:17-46

We Have A World That Needs Christ and the Best Way That They Will Ever Have a Hope Of Receiving Him as their Saviour Is To See The LOVE OF Christ In You!!!

November Newsletter 2023

 November/December Activities:                                                                                                     At Old Paths we had during November National Bible Publishing Month and we did our lessons on: God’s Plan; God’s Place; God’s People; and God’s Purpose for Getting God’s Word out to the world. During the weeks of November and December we decided to take up Special Offerings for Rolls of Paper to print the Word of God on. The logical thought behind the giving of this offering in November and December was that IT WAS A WAY of Giving Thanks To God for His Word that we have as Christians, and also, IT WAS A WAY of Giving the Lord a Gift on His Birthday!!! One roll cost $800 and is to produce 400 Whole Bibles or 1,800 New Testaments. Between some guests we had on Friend Day and our church here at Old Paths we were able to raise money for 2+ rolls of paper. Praise The Lord!!! In December we had a teen Christmas gathering with a gift exchange and of course, food! We had 6 teens for this activity. It was our first and last activities for 2023. We have more planned for 2024. The ladies from our church prepared some cookies for our Caroling stops and on Wednesday evening December 13th we at Old Paths went out Christmas Caroling to some of the elderly in connection to the church. One of the families that have been coming, her Mother has cancer so we went there and it was uplifting for her Mother to see. Please pray for her, Denise is her name. Afterward we went back to the church for some cookies and hot chocolate. The ladies finished up their Bible Study for the year and also had a gift exchange after their last study together. We had a good Christmas Eve service. I Preached on “Glory To God For The Glory Of God!” and on New Year’s Eve I Preached on “A Fresh Start Being Close To God”. We had our last potluck, and in the evening observed the Lord’s supper.

Our New Theme & Our New Year:                                                                                                Here at Old Paths Baptist Church we had our Vision Sunday January 7th. Our theme for 2024 is: “The Church That God Builds” our theme verse is Psalm 127:1a, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it...” This Passage is associated with the Building/Construction of Solomon’s Temple. Using this passage of Scripture we want

to parallel that truth to Building Up Old Paths Baptist Church and teaching those that come and are to come that “THE CHURCH THAT GOD BUILDS has to be done GOD’s WAY shone us in GOD’s WORD or else our labor is in vain, an Empty and an Open show if God is not behind it and in How it is to be done! We are looking forward to what the Lord will do. We set the goals and plans we would like to see accomplished this year. We also set the calendar of events. Please pray for us as we will be making some painful changes, but they are right and they are needed at this time! We just started this in the last month or so that on Wednesday evenings, if

the teen girls we have come, my wife will go down stairs with them and teach them. This Wednesday evening Emily, one of the new comers told us that in December after she left one of our Wednesday evening services that she asked Christ to be her Savior! Amen! God Is At Work and I Do Not Know How it will all play out. This year we have a few engagements to learn from and to try raising more support and awareness of America as a needy mission field. Next week, January 15-19, my son Nehemiah and I will be going to a Church Planting Conference in Oklahoma and later on in the near future there are more speaking engagements that will give

opportunity to share our Church Planting and Establishing ministry here in America at Old Paths Baptist Church.

Update from Ghana:                                                                                                                           I was able to talk to Pastor Prince before Christmas the family is doing well. The church has been able to accomplish putting in a platform up front in their church auditorium for the preaching. The church is growing and I got to Preach their Christmas Eve Service through a Recording of our message here, then sending it to them.

Prayer Requests & Thank Yous:                                                                                                 Travels to a Church Planting Conference in Oklahoma; Support; For Denise and her Cancer;

November Newsletter 2023

Attendees:                                                                                                                                                                              Knowing our Labor is NOT in Vain in the Lord, I Cor 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”; and that Being Obedient to GO Out and Compel others to come in, is Right, Luke 14:23, “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.. It proves to be Rewarding! In our last newsletter I mentioned our Saturday Blitz of passing out 800 flyers for our Friend Day, Not one of our visitors came from that distribution, BUT our Church was Edified and Encouraged from another carrying and concerned church that went visiting with us that day and those that visited for our Friend Day were from people in our church inviting their extended families and friends, Amen!!!   A few have stayed, some we are still working on. Thank you Lord and Thank you Calvary Chapel! Since our Friend Day on September 24that Old Paths Baptist Church, the Lord has brought some other visitors our way. A family who used to attend a while ago, came back. The husband who we have never met until we visited them at home about two weeks ago, has also been coming. They have two children, an older teen and one about 10 years old. There also has been a couple coming with her teen daughter with a teen daughter after they called me at the church and I went to visit them at their request. We thank God for giving the increase.

Ladies Bible Study:

My wife asked, Kathryn Dornbirer if she would like to teach a ladies Bible study on Tuesday evenings. There are 6 ladies who signed up and one lady joined the Bible study last week. Bad and Disturbing Circumstances can turn to your good and God’s Glory if we let God have His Way in our l lives. We are thankful to see God working AND I’M SURE HE IS NOT DONE YET!!! Joseph’s, David’s, Job’s and Daniel’s Convictions Did Not Change, Nether Did Their Devotion to the Lord during Circumstances that were thrown at them.

Baptism/Electrical Work:

A mother and her daughter got baptized this month, Jackie discipled Cathy earlier this year. They have been at Old Paths for 3 years. They professed being saved, just never became a member through Scriptural Baptism. It was so good to see them follow Christ in baptism. The spirit in the Church was at a good level!!! Kathy’s husband who is also a faithful attendee did some electrical work in our downstairs fellowship hall. We are trying to only heat up the basement with some electric heaters instead of turning on the heat for the whole building. (For the Ladies Bible Study). He ran some more wiring and separated the lights from the outlets.

Receiving Baptist Certificate

Harvest Dinner:

On November 12th, we invited Light House Baptist, Bucyrus, to join us in a Harvest Dinner. We had about 30 people for the dinner. Including the two families that came in October after our Friend Day. We had plenty of good food, gave out some door prizes and had a good time in the Lord. It Went Well!

Prayer Requests & Thank Yous:

Please Pray for us as we seek support and continued support. We have been to two more churches in October which seem to be hopeful supporters. WE WANT TO THANK YOU ALL THAT SUPPORT US IN THE WORK GOD HAS US DOING.

Bits Of Bread:

“O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” – Psalm 107:1

Giving Thanks To God Is:(1)Expected,“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! (Repeatedly said) – Psalm 107:8,15,21,31;(2)Due Him, The Lord“And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.” “And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?” – Luke 17:16-17;(3)What His Dear Children Do, “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.” – Ephesians 5:3-4; (4)To Be The Fruit Of Our Lips“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” – Hebrews 13:15

HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING and A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

September Newsletter 2023

Saturday Blitz:                                                                                                     We have prepared 800 “Friend Day” packets, included in each packet is, an invitation flyer, a John and  Romans and our church card in it. We have passed them out on visitation and those in our church to their co-workers etc. On September 16, a group of about 18 folks from Calvary Chapel Baptist Church in Minister OH, came to help us pass out the 800 flyers. We still have about 100 left to be passed out, but we will get those passed out this week. We had pizza and fellowship afterwards. Some of our ladies brought dessert and drinks. It was an encouragement and blessing to our church. We are thankful to them for helping. Please pray for this special Day, “Friend Day” this Sunday, September 24th.  After passing out our flyer packets and right before having pizza we all gathered together and had some testimonies about our visits. One of the testimonies that was given was of a lady at one of the houses that said, “It was something pleasant to see church people going down the streets visiting door to door”; Another testimony was of a widow lady that was saved in a Baptist Church in her early married years, moved to Bucyrus when her husband died and is looking for a good church to go to; Another testimony was from Pastor Dan’s wife. She got to meet a young lady that she and Pastor Dan led to the Lord years ago. Since that time the young lady got into sin and trouble, but now is trying to get out of that. My testimony of our Saturday Blitz is that seeing and hearing those people from our church, and 3 of them not members yet, being very excited to come out and do a work for God and see, and fellowship with another like-minded church that is excited and cares was a good dose of what our young church needed.

Baptismal/Membership Classes:

The lady Jackie discipled earlier this year, she and her teen daughter have finished up the baptismal/ membership classes that I had with them. They have been saved for several years but never got baptized  since attending Old Paths for over 2 years. We are now working on a date for them getting baptized. We are excited to see them grow in the Lord.

Travels and Encouragement:

We are so thankful to our churches that have continued with us, being burdened and in support of us as church planters in the USA trying to make a difference in OUR COUNTRY taking on Old Paths Baptist Church Strengthening it, and Growing it! Old Paths Baptist Church is a small church that’s not that old, but can play a vital part in OUR COUNTRY’S spiritual need. We have traveled to Pennsylvania where we had 2 churches that we were in on Sunday September 3rd. Going to our churches who have supported us for 20+ years and the memories and people in our churches we love them and are our extended church family who have had a part  in our ministry. GOD BLESS YOU!!! Pray for us as we seek support and continued support!

Bits Of Bread: “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” – Jude 1:20-23
